Half a Billion dollar Challenge

ABC, A Baseball Community has suggested a plan for a new baseball facility that will cost around $500,000,000.

I propose a competing plan called:

ARC, A Real Community.  We will outline our plan to compete against the ABC plan.  Whichever plan get endorsed by most of the community is the one I support.  (I think ABC will have a hard time winning this battle but lets think big about how we could use their proposal to get the funding we want for other stuff.  If the money can be found for baseball then the money can be found other things:

  • Homeless solutions
  • Recycling
  • Green Jobs
  • Home weatherization, to lower utility bills, save energy.
  • Youth programs, summer jobs.
  • Youth baseball.  How many uniforms for little league can you buy with a half billion dollars?
  • City wide wireless internet.

We can fund every dream project that makes sense or something like a retractible roof for baseball.

Please help A Real Community (ARC) develop a plan as the communities alternative to ABC's plan.

I have set up social networking website at Olamazi.ning.com for public, on the record discorse for developing these plans.  This site will be solution oriented.  It is a place for an online community to formulate the solutions for our city. To use it you will have to disclose your real name and address just as you would when speaking on the record at a council meeting.  Please sign up.
